Our Lady of Mercy School is a co-educational parochial elementary school offering grades Pre-Kindergarten through eighth. Centrally located in the Baton Rouge area, the school has served the community since 1953. The school’s motto, Prayer – Knowledge – Service, serves as the foundation of the Catholic education provided. Our Lady of Mercy School provides an environment where partnerships are formed among educators, students, and parents to identify each child’s talents and needs, so that the individual develops to the fullest potential, in an atmosphere of Catholic faith and love.

The school offers a challenging core curriculum, as well as physical education, art, computer, and Spanish. There is also an option to enroll in band (grades 4-8) and choir (grades 5-8). Football, basketball, volleyball, cross country, track, and numerous extra-curricular activities are available, as well as before and after school care.

Technology includes an extensive website, school-wide internet service, Edline, and School Reach (phone notification system). The most recent additions have been 32iPad2 units and 32 iMac computers in our computer lab, as well as StarBoards, projectors, and drop-down screens in all classrooms. Full campus includes an Early Childhood Center, library/media center, computer and science labs, two cafeterias, a gymnasium and a football field. Quarterly reports from the area high schools indicate alumni are achieving excellent academic and extracurricular success.
