Lower School (2nd-4th)
Grades 2-4 are self-contained. In second grade, there are three homeroom teachers, and one individual who assists in all second grade classrooms. There is an emphasis on basic skills in an environment which encourages application of those skills and development of higher order thinking. Religion is taught daily for 30 minutes. Music and physical education are taught once a week. Spanish teaches conversational Spanish, such as greetings, letters, numbers, and songs, once a week. Computer lab is provided once per week. Fourth grade is semi-departmentalized. The language arts (English/Reading) are taught by each homeroom teacher. Math, Science and Social Studies are departmentalized with 60 minute periods to include; Math, Science/Spelling; and Social Studies/Creative Writing.
