Mercy Grads Honored for High Achievements at "Academy Idol" Awards

Congratulations to Mercy grads and current students at SJA, for recent accomplishments! Molly Toups (2010) was named as a new member of the Quill and Scroll International Society for High School Journalists. Earning Gold Medals for performance on the National Latin Exam were Marianne Konikoff, Michaela Mitchell, Katie Vukovics and Elizabeth Vukovics. Recognized for placing first, second or third in their subject area at District Rally were, Marianne Konikoff and Bella St. Amant. Molly Toups was honored for finishing second or third in her subject area at the Louisiana State Rally. Andree Laville is the recipient of the 2013 Woodmen of the World award, given to the American History student who exhibits the qualities of scholarship, leadership and enthusiasm for history. Mary LaHaye received the American Legion Award, the highest honor awarded to American youths by the American Legion. She was selected by her senior classmates on the principles of courage, honor, leadership, patriotism, scholarship and service to God and community. See story HERE.
Special recognition was given to those seniors at Saint Joseph’s Academy for dedicating 50 or more hours per high school year to service. Those recognized included: Clair Chapman, Abby Grant, Alex Hebert, Madeleine Jeansonne, Hailey Katzman, Mary LaHaye, Emily Mitchell, and Annie Peek. See story HERE.
