Parents

Home & School Association

All parents at Our Lady of Mercy School are members of the Home & School Association (HSA). Our HSA is very engaged, and we urge all Blue Jay parents to explore the numerous chances to participate in our school community.

The HSA aims to assist Our Lady of Mercy School and its staff in fulfilling the school’s mission by promoting parental engagement on campus. Collaborating with the school, HSA strives to enrich experiences for students, parents, faculty, and staff through volunteer initiatives throughout the academic year.

HSA coordinates volunteers for Homerooms, Cafeteria, Lost and Found, Library, Grandparents Days, Health Screenings, and Class Coverage. Some activities sponsored by the HSA include Mercy Spirit Shop, Teacher Appreciation Week, Faculty Hospitality Committee, Bluejay Treat Days, Mercy Fun Walk, and Field Day.

Sign up links will be sent out on an as needed basis throughout the school year. We look forward to seeing so many of you on campus volunteering!

Our Lady of Mercy School adheres to the policies set forth by the Diocesan Child Protection Program. Please keep in mind that volunteer opportunities require the completion of the application, training, and background check required by the Catholic Diocese of Baton Rouge. Detailed information regarding the Volunteer Certification may be found HERE. This certification must be completed at least two weeks prior to the volunteer activity.
